The fundamentals of theory and methods of X-ray structural analysis of soft matter (noncrystalline materials, liquids, solutions and amorphous materials) will be presented. The current state of research in this field will be discussed. The significance of X-ray structural studies of molecular liquids [1] and solutions [2] for the understanding of the mechanism of physico-chemical processes taking place in these materials will be indicated. X-ray diffraction is a very efficient method of studying the structure of matter in both solid and liquid phase. Recently [1-3] it has been shown that the X-ray diffraction method on liquid media allows not only for determination of interatomic distances in a molecule but also brings information on the type of interaction among the molecules and its arrangement.
