SUMMARY:Magnetic Hyperthermia Focused on Magnetosome and Nanoparticle System Analysis
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nSpeaker: Dr. Matúš Molčan Institute of Experimental Physics SAS\, Slovak Academy of Sciences\, Slovakia \n\n\n\nAbstract:  This presentation focuses on magnetic hyperthermia and the use of magnetosomes as natural magnetic materials for heat generation under different magnetic field regimes. Magnetic hyperthermia represents a promising approach for cancer treatment\, where magnetic particles convert electromagnetic energy into localized heat. Magnetosomes\, produced by magnetotactic bacteria\, have uniform shapes\, natural coatings\, and consistent magnetic behaviour. The study evaluates how magnetosome chain length and other features were modified and characterized and investigates the effect of the surrounding medium on heating performance using agar-based tests. The presentation also briefly presents ongoing collaborations\, including research on magnetically modified emulsions\, liquid marbles\, and the influence of medium viscosity on heating efficiency.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Those who cannot participate in person can follow the talk using Microsoft Teams: \n\n \n\n\n\n\n
